Usanza Designs was created by Amy Parker here in the beautiful Northwest. With the creation of Usanza Designs I have found the perfect way to express my passion for the art of adornment. Every design is out of pure love and each finished piece is a symbol of beauty.
I am a jewelry designer/metal smith, a painter, a photographer (kaizen nw) and a mother of an amazing little boy who keeps me present and full of sweet, sweet joy!!
I started studying and collecting vintage & tribal style jewelry from around the world in 1994. Then in 2004 i started designing jewelry and having it produced by fair trade companies. Though this was a wonderful adventure there were still many challenges while working with artists that were so far away. So in 2007 i took the leap and started producing my own designs. I use only the highest quality 925 sterling silver and 14k - 18k gold fill pieces and stunning gemstones of ruby, sapphire, chrysophrase & many others. All Usanza items are handmade here at my studio in Hood River Oregon. All of the silver, gold, findings & gemstones are hand selected for the finest quality and to support as many local, fair trade & small businesses as possible.
My work is inspired by my personal love & fascination for the art of adornment.
